BBC World Television news anchor and travel presenter, Aaron Heslehurst, travelled from Sydney to Brisbane in a Maui Spirit 6 berth:

"Having not lived in Australia for almost twenty years - the thought of doing a road trip up the NSW & QLD coast - bought back childhood memories of those long, boring and slow car journeys I did as a kid with my family.

But boy . . . how wrong was I!

As part of a story research trip - my producer and I travelled the coastline in a Maui motor-home which turned out to be one of the greatest experiences we have had.

From the start - the Maui team were great to deal with - helpful and eager to please in getting us off on our way.

The six berth Mercedes vehicle drove like a car; it was actually a breeze to drive.

Now, I've done some camping in the past - but not camping where I had access to air conditioning comfort, dvd & stereo player, a fridge freezer and even a microwave oven!  Camping . . . huh I think not!

But of course it certainly set a precedent - and it's exactly the type of camping I'd choose to do in the future.

With its vast distances and out of way towns & beaches – seeing parts of Australia in a motor-home is an ideal way of travel.

It allowed us not only to do the big cities, but to call in and visit all the wonderful and spectacular nooks and crannies that country has to offer.

Would I do a Maui motor-home trip again - you bet ya I would!"
